The names are posted. The journey begins.
I walked in this evening, strolling through these halls, searching for our cast of performers. Above the athletic noises coming from the gym, it was easy to make out the chorus of voices slipping past the doors of the Relief Society room.
The doors opened to a sea of faces. Many a stranger, many a friend. It won't be long before strangers will no longer be.
How could we exist as strangers when together we must unite with our Iowa City Faces?
A toe tapping here....
A shared smile there.....
Thanks to our lovely pianists, it's evident, though ... we got trouble.
Friends, lemme tell you what I mean..... ... youth'll be fritterin' away.....
Trouble....taking a look at the many faces of our director, there's no doubt. Trouble.
Hit what note you say?! See.... Trouble!
I took a good look again at the faces that filled that room this night. Trouble? Hardly.
I reflected on the reasons again in bringing us all together. I thought of the many things these good people must be experiencing in their lives right now, yet they chose to sacrifice and be together this night, to share this part of them with so many of us.
Much the opposite of trouble, I felt peace.
Peace in being able to be part of a wonderful stake.
Peace in knowing that despite the troubles around us, we have each other, and we have the gospel.
A peace that sounds good, feels good, and looks good, too.
We are far from in trouble....
